Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has unveiled six new service packages as part of its growing focus on tailored after-market support.

The company’s certified PT6A pre-owned engine program is being expanded to include the PT6C-67C, PW206C and PW207C helicopter engines.

Under this effort, operators of P&WC-powered helicopters whose engines are certified under the program will be given a one-year, 500-hr. first-run warranty. This also gives access to discounts on training and technical publications.

P&WC is also introducing a pay-per-hour engine maintenance program for a sub-segment of the market with operators of fleets of up to five helicopters. Some 89% of P&WC’s 1,600 operators fly between one and 10 aircraft.

The engine maker also is creating a service group dedicated to the defense and security market that includes operators of civil-certified engines flown for law enforcement, government missions, search-and-rescue, firefighting and other military and paramilitary roles.

In other sectors, P&WC has formed the first enhanced line-replaceable unit availability program for turboshafts that replicates a similar initiative set up for turbofans powering business jets.

In addition to a new initiative to develop more tailored service plans using data analytics, P&WC is developing a specialist package of mission-ready support services for heads of state and other VIP transport helicopter fleets. The program includes the establishment of spare parts and engineering services at specific operator locations. It also includes placement of additional rental assets or the use of mobile repair teams to do scheduled maintenance.
