Belgian Defense has produced a nice video of the Leopold I frigate to illustrate the range of missions it has conducted over the last two years, from dealing with the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean to shadowing the Russian aircraft carrier Kuznetzov off the North Sea coast.

The firing of its Seasparrow surface-to-air missiles is especially impressive. An NH90 is shown in the beginning of the video landing on the frigate but most of the helicopter footage is of the Alouette III it will replace.

Belgium plans to replace the Leopold I and its sister ship, the Louise-Marie, by 2030 in a joint procurement program with the Netherlands.
