Luftwaffe A310 MRTTs Complete 1,000 Flying Hours Over Syria And Iraq

The Luftwaffe completed 1,000 flying hours Aug. 20 with Airbus A310 Multirole Tanker Transports (MRTTs) refueling coalition aircraft operating against the so-called Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.

The aerial tankers have flown 203 missions delivering nearly 4,000 tons of fuel since mid-December, the German Ministry of Defense announced Aug. 23.

The Luftwaffe has had an A310 MRTT based in Incirlik air base in eastern Turkey for the last eight months.
