Emirates decided for the first time to defer Airbus A380 deliveries, making an already difficult situation for the program much worse. The Dubai-based airline is moving deliveries of six of the aircraft from 2017 to 2018 and a further six aircraft from 2018 to 2019. The company did not say why it made the decision, but stated it came after an agreement with Airbus and engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce.
