During a recent Aviation Week leadership retreat, we reflected on past successes and future strategy, with Juliet Trew, vice president of business development for Aviation Week’s Commercial and A&D events, looking back on a successful year, which included the Advanced Air Mobility event launch at the Paris Air Show. She was eagerly looking forward to seeing electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing vehicle flights in action at the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris. And as always, she was passionate, curious and wise.

Juliet died suddenly and unexpectedly on Feb. 2. She leaves behind a husband, Mark, and 4-year-old son, Max.

In recent years, Juliet was a key player in the successful growth of Aviation Week’s events businesses, which have grown to be a successful platform for our industry to connect, learn and grow. Her journey began at Aviation Industry Conferences in 2004, which laid the foundation for her passion for aviation. She was a talented rising leader in the aviation community, with boundless potential. Colleagues and customers alike found her to be engaging, smart, hardworking and cheerful. When problems arose, she was calm and steady. But behind her reserve lay an iron will to execute our conferences and exhibitions at the highest level. She was supremely competent, connected with everyone and had a spectacular eye for detail.

The same can be said for her relationship with the aviation, MRO and aerospace communities. She was passionately engaged with your challenges and information needs. The events she hosted each year connected tens of thousands of colleagues across our industry, in every corner of the globe, with a common goal in mind: progressing the industry forward.

Juliet touched so many over her years in this community; her relationships in the industry must number in the thousands. And while we have made every effort to share this sad news with her closest contacts, we are utilizing Aviation Week’s media channels to let the industry know about her passing and provide an opportunity to share in the mourning, reflections and ultimately tributes and celebrations of her life. Your memories, insights and anecdotes about Juliet are welcome and appreciated.

Juliet, at just 41 years, it was much too soon for you to leave your family. Your aviation and aerospace family at Aviation Week and across Informa will miss you dearly, too.
