With HAI Heli-Expo happening next week, this week we have a #ForecastFriday to show another of Aviation Week’s data offerings.

Helicopter In Service Fleet (ISF) is expected to grow from ~21,500 in 2023 to over 24,000 in 2032.

When broken out by helicopter size category we can see the strongest performers are ‘Long Light Single’ engine helicopters, with ISF increasing ~1,500 over the forecast period.

‘Light’ and ‘Medium Twin’ engine helicopters ISF both increase by around 600 aircraft.

The only ‘loser’ is the ‘Medium Single’ engines helicopter, as the ISF drops by over 50% over the forecast.

This data was put together using Aviation Week’s 2023 Helicopter Fleet & MRO Forecast

FlightFriday

Flight Friday is compiled using data from Aviation Week Intelligence Network’s (AWIN) Tracked Aircraft Utilization module, the most comprehensive and accurate solution for global tracking of aircraft utilization.

Based on recorded flight movements from ADS-B data, combined with AWIN’s robust fleet intelligence, users gain insight into the aircraft’s actual versus reported movement, down to the tail number. This unique solution provides users a more up-to-date and comprehensive analysis of aircraft utilization.
