SINGAPORE—ST Engineering has signed a three-year agreement with Safran, one half of the CFM company, to provide quickturn maintenance offload support for Leap 1A engines.

This means ST Engineering will have quickturn capabilities for both Leap 1A and Leap 1B engines for the Airbus A320neo family and Boeing 737 MAX family, respectively.

The Singapore-headquartered company also has quickturn capability for CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines.

In March, ST Engineering signed a CFM Branded Service Agreement (CBSA) for both Leap 1A and Leap 1B engines, becoming the first in Asia to provide the full scope of MRO services for the engine type.

Aviation Daily understands that it will reach full performance restoration shop visit by end 2024.

Aviation Week Network’s Fleet Discovery database shows that Asia-Pacific including China and India has 759 Leap 1A and Leap 1B powered aircraft, with another 3,515 on order. That will account for 1,518 in service engines, not including spares.
