Boeing President and CEO Dennis Muilenburg will also be chairman of the board of directors starting March 1. Muilenburg succeeded Jim McNerney as CEO on July 1, 2015, but McNerney remained chairman. When the CEO transition occurred, McNerney also said he would retire at the end of February 2016. Boeing said Feb. 23 that its board has voted to make Muilenburg chairman upon McNerney’s retirement. Muilenburg was Boeing president and COO before becoming CEO last year.
