So said Experia Events managing director Leck Chet Lam as he and key officials of Singaporean defense and transportation agencies cut the ribbon at the Changi Exhibition Center.  

Coronavirus aside, the biennial event, which runs though Feb. 16, is expected to draw some 40,000 trade visitors and upward of 930 participating companies from more than 45 countries. 

“We look forward to a week of strategic dialogues, expansive networking and powerful collaboration that will shape the pace of transformation of Asia’s aviation industry,” Leck said.  

Experia describes the Singapore Airshow as Asia’s largest and most influential international aerospace and defense exhibition, a place “for stakeholders to forge strategic alliances [and] collaborate for change to shape the future of the global aviation industry.”
