The US and any other military wants the supersonic flights reserved for themselves only: no passenger airplanes to bother them in high altitudes. That is the truth I see.
From airworthiness point of view, in regard to Unscheduled Inspections required by AMM, there is no such a category as pure "Overweight Landing". There is Hard or Very Hard landing with exceeded...
@WJLAviator you are wrong. Only the first Airbus A300B1/B2 (don't mix with A300B4 aka A300-600) had flight Engineer. The first ever "Glass Cockpit" aircraft with out Flight Engineer was A310....
