From The Archives: Aero 680 Displays High Performance

Aero Commander Model 680 demonstrated high performance to Aviation Week's Richard Sweeney, on page 82, in the issue dated Oct. 01, 1956.

The Model 680, gracing this issue's cover is powered by two supercharged Lycoming GSO-480-A1A6 engines that give it extra altitude capability and a top speed of 260 mph. The aircraft is seen flying near the plant of Aero Design and Engineering Co. in Bethany, Okla.

The article has photographs, specifications and a diagram of the fuselage to show closely spaced formers and stringers that typify its rigid structure.
