Bahrain formally accepted delivery of the first of 16 jets a year ago, but the fighters remained in the U.S. to complete certification testing.

New destinations in Italy, France and the UK are joining the airline’s network.

The planned service comes nearly a year after the two countries normalized their diplomatic relations.

A third aircraft will be based in Lithuania’s capital, while Wizz’s Abu Dhabi-based offshoot is starting flights to Bahrain.

The services will increase the airline’s leisure offer to destinations in Europe.

The airlines said the agreement will boost connectivity in the region.

Singapore will return to the airline’s network after an absence of more than a decade.

The agreement builds on a 2018 MOU between the two flag-carriers.
