US Airways Has No Breakup Plans; Senator Accuses UAL Of Delays
US Airways' leaders have no plans to break up the airline and sell off its key assets following United's recent decision to abandon their planned merger. Chairman Stephen Wolf and CEO Rakesh Gangwal said yesterday they "have no intention to, and will not, recommend" a breakup of the airline to the company's board at its July 18 meeting.Since United decided not to proceed with the merger, US Airways has been surrounded with a cloud of uncertainty and much speculation about its future competing alone.
