Swiss MRO SR Technics is digitizing its operations through a new multi-year contract with HCL Technologies (HCLTech).

Under the deal, SR Technics will implement cloud-based SAP S/4HANA enterprise resource planning (ERP) software hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform and HCLTech’s iMRO, an aftermarket industry add-on for SAP.

HCLTech says the cloud-based ERP platform will enable SR Technics to transform and simplify its business operations, as well as optimize IT operating costs.

“The combined SAP and HCLTech offering was the only solution that fully met our unique business requirements. It provides a future-proof technology foundation to optimize and grow our engine's operations,” says Patrick Kuster, senior vice president of IT and executive sponsor of the ReSeT digital transformation program at SR Technics.

“Our move to SAP S/4HANA and the adoption of iMRO is the technology foundation of SR Technics’ ‘ReSeT’ program, as we look to reduce operational complexity and further enhance our service delivery to customers,” adds Kuster.

According to Pankaj Tagra, corporate vice president for Europe and Africa at HCLTech, the contract will help it grow its business in central Europe and the aviation sector.

HCLTech says iMRO aims to enhance overall visibility and operational effectiveness in the maintenance environment. It is used by more than 50 customers globally. It says SR Technics’ deployment is the first on SAP S/4HANA using RISE with SAP.
